Javie Mangalino

Osteopath

Javie developed a passion for osteopathy through his own experiences as a Big V basketball player. This is where he encountered everything from corkys to a meniscus tear. Navigating injury, recovery, and performance sparked his interest in helping others through similar challenges. Javie has a deep understanding that injuries affect more than just the physical body. This perspective has shaped his approach to care, with a strong focus on understanding the person first, and the injury or condition second.

Javie has a keen interest in using a combination of treatment approaches, believing that tailored, patient-specific care leads to the best health outcomes. He enjoys working with a wide range of conditions and people, drawing on his experience as a sports trainer for a local VAFA football club over the past five years, as well as two years at Assisi Aged Care with the Italian elderly community.

On the weekends, you’ll likely find Javie sipping on an Aperol spritz at a rooftop bar in the city with his mates.

Be sure to ask him about music!  Any genre; he prides himself on having a wide-ranging music taste and will almost certainly know, or happily boogie to, your favourite song.

Fun fact: Javie will cry tears of joy the day Essendon win a final!
